The shock absorber (metal plate) and the rope are nicely packed together in a little bag that can be opened for inspection. So no more loose hanging brake ropes on your harness, for comfort and easy of use.

The Y construction with elastic ends and shock absorber help keep the carabiner near to the body at all times optimizing ease of handling. Additional safety is provided by the robust via ferrata carabiner with palm squeeze mechanism to prevent unintentional opening. The Kong Via Ferrata set Elastic is attached directly via the tape loop to the harness using a lanyard hitch knot.

Via ferrata sets are all attached to the harness the same way. A simple hitch knot is used for both harnesses and for fullbody harnesses.
